From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated that the aircraft landed runway 33 to taxiway A2 aircraft began to drift left. The pilot then applied righthand rudder with limited response to the application of the righthand rudder. The pilot then applied lefthand rudder to avoid a taxi way light and exited the taxiway and stopped on the grass. PIC stated that he found the righthand brake master cylinder disconnected from the righthand rudder pedal. When the righthand master cylinder was no longer connected the righthand rudder pedal laid in a horizontal orientation and limited the forward movement of the righthand rudder controls. Maintenance logbooks had no indication of maintenance performed to the righthand master cylinder or rudder pedal prior to the event. The righthand rudder pedal and master cylinder were connected at the time of investigation. Cotter key securing the master cylinder attachment was found at a later date. Half of the cotter key was broken off and the other half was partially bent.
