From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 01/10/2025 at 2059Z, privacy data omitted flown into Eastern Slopes Regional (izg) into Maine collapsed the nose landing gear after touchdown on rwy 32. It was reported there were no injuries and only damage to the nose wheel. Weather was VFR and reported environmental factors were from the setting sun and fresh plowed snow that caused the pilot to be disoriented and mistake the centerline for a snowberm on the edge of the runway. The pilot corrected his approach path too late and the nose wheel was damaged after hitting the snowberm. The front landing gear was torn off upon touching down. No other damage to the aircraft observed or reported. No mechanical issues reported either prior to incident. ASI observed no regulatory violations during the investigation. Incident is closed with no further action at this time.
