From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot expressed he performed all the ground takeoff checks and everything was perfect. All the instruments were in the green before departure. He then applied full power to take off and at about 150FT above ground the rpm's started to drop from 2300-1800-1200. There was not enough power to recover, so the pilot immediately spoke with the tower and declared an emergency for landing and was approved. The pilot in command said he used the end of the runway to land. He then touched down and pulled the power back to idle. After that he said he used full braking as much as possible to remain in the center of the runway. He also noted that when he applied full braking the aircraft started to lose control. After that the aircraft started to turn left while jumping a curb and hitting a taxiway edge light that broke at the frangable coupling. This also caused the right main gear to collaspe. The aircraft then came to a rest on the right wing in the grass.

As the FAA filed it
