What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Student pilot was conducting the first landing of the first solo flight, in a Cessna 152, when the aircraft landed hard enough to bounce and begin a pilot induced oscillation (porpoise). Upon the third contact with the ground the front landing gear strut collapsed resulting in the prop to strike the runway and the aircraft skidded to a stop on the front end but avoided flipping over. Based on coordination with the NTSB, this event is classified as an incident.
