From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon inspection of the collapsed nose landing gear, it was discovered that the nose gear drag link bolt (NAS464P4-27) had sheared during landing. The shearing of the bolt caused the nose gear scissor link to fail, and the nose gear folded back to the retracted position. The nose gear drag link bolt is required to be inspected every 100 hours as part of Piper aircraft service bulletin 1156SB, rev. December 12, 2024 (effectivity - December 16, 2024). A 100 hour inspection was completed by privacy data omitted on 01/28/2025. The current AD for this aircraft does not include serial numbers found within AD 94-14-14.
