From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft completed flight and landed on runway 21R before turning onto taxiway where it's RH main landing gear collapsed. Aircraft was shutdown and evacuated before being moved to company hangar with NTSB permission.

Investigation into the root cause of malfunction was build up of corrosion on landing gear leg and metal fatigue/failure. Inspection of accident aircrafts LH MLG leg found a crack in similar postion.

Interview with operator they believed root cause to be extensive cycles of landing gear leg and corrosion. Safety and compliance actions were taken in that a plan to address the root cause is being implemented by the operator where a life cycle limitation would be instituted on MLG legs and 50HR inspection checklists would add more detail to cleaning and inspecting MLG legs. They also plan to add addtional cleaning and inspecting to their weekly aircraft washes.

Operator plan of action submitted 3/21/2025. Operator did not submit an SDR but did contact mfr and is implementing a 10,000 hour cap on main landing gear. One aircraft will be washed per week where the inspection panels will be removed and the MLG leg inspected effectively having each aircraft's landing gear inspected every three weeks. They will also be modifying their 50HR inspection to include a visual inspection of the MLG leg. They are implementing these changes immediately.

Once they have had some time to adjust to their new changes we will revisit and verify changes have been implemented and recommend/make any adjustements or changes as needed to prevent reoccurrence.

As the FAA filed it
