The crew continued the takeoff and diverted to and landed safely at Denver International Airport (kden). After landing, the flight taxied to the gate, and the airplane was shutdown. After shutdown liquid was observed leaking and pooling on the ground from lower part of the right engine. A fire ensued in the area of the right engine, and the passengers and crew evacuated the airplane. On board the flight were 2 flight crew members, 4 cabin crew members, and 172 passengers. Twelve passengers received minor injuries. The airplane received substantial damage. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident.

As the jet bridge was approaching the aircraft, approximately 1 min after arriving a the gate, ramp personel observed a fire under the right engine evacuation occurred. Smoke was first observed in the cabin, flight attendants tried calling the cockpit, no answer. The right engine fire light illuminated, cockpit crew pulled the no. 2 engine fire handle and discharged the bottle while running the ground fire qrh.

Due to fire on right side a non rev flight attendant (fa) sitting in exit 16F instructed to not open right overwing exits and shouted commands to go out left side overwing exits.
Fa position 2R and 2L had to rearm their doors by reinstalling the girt bars. The 2 l slide pack dropped out jamming the 2L, the 2R fa did not see smoke out the 2R window opend the door the slide deployed and passengers evacuated out 2R.
The 1L door was disarmed and opened normally, and the forward portion of the aircraft evacuated out the main cabin door 1L and onto the jet bridge/terminal. 1R was not opened.
Ramp personnel were able to extinguish the fire using a rolling fire bottle. Ramp personnel assisted passengers off the wing.
