From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of a Honda jet reported approximately 1 hour into flight received a left engine fault message. Ran checklist and continued flight. Approximately 30 min later received a left engine chip detect message. Within a few minutes after the left engine started surging (all indications) started reducing thrust on left engine and received l engine exceedance message followed by l engine. Flameout message. Declared an emergency and chose kmsy as divert airport. Aircraft landed and taxied to parking without further incident. The manufacturer's technical representative reported: the initial discovery on site was that the engine radial driveshaft disengaged from the accessory gear box, resulting in an engine flameout. A replacement engine was installed to return the aircraft to service. The event engine (model HF120, sn 883193) was sent to our mro shop, has been disassembled and root cause is being investigated. Ghae product support engineering has reported this event as an fmd to the FAA per 14 CFR 21.3.
