From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft called saying they were working out some landing gear issues. Pilot requested controller looks at landing gear, was told they appear to be down, but canted. Aircraft then did a touch and go. A different aircraft on the airport told pilot that his gear appeared to lock into place. Controller told pilot his nose gear still appeared canted. Pilot was then cleared to land on runway 8 left, nose gear collapsed on landing roll out. Upon inspection of the aircraft residual hydraulic fluid was noted on bottom of the fusealage of the aircraft. On March 21, 2025, the aircraft's nose landing gear was overhauled. As part of the post-maintenance checks, both normal extension/retraction and emergency extension operations were performed and verified. At this time, the aircraft privacy data omitted has declined to proceed with further inspection or repair, citing the possibility of pending litigation. The privacy data omitted will notify this office once a decision has been made regarding the location where any required maintenance will be performed.

This memorandum will be updated as additional information becomes available.
