From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The landing for runway 01 was aborted, and “full” throttle was applied for a go-around. A pilot rated witness stated that upon hearing the engine rev to full power he looked out his window and observed the aircraft at an altitude of 15-20 feet and heading toward trees located adjacent to the runway. The aircraft pitched up in an apparent attempt to avoid the trees. At this point, he observed the left wing dip followed by the nose pitching down. The landing gear were down and locked the flaps were fully extended. The left wing damage and ground scars indicate a high bank angle at impact. This resulted in a partial wing separation and a breach of the fuel tank/lines. The aircraft appeared to cartwheel as indicated by ground scars and forward fuselage damage. The final ground scar shows the cartwheel continued as the tail contacted the ground. The aircraft slid backwards and the right wing impacted a tree causing the aircraft to rotate and come to a stop.

As the FAA filed it
