From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a commercial pilot practical test on April 18, 2025, at approximately 1400 local time, the pilot in command (PIC) attempted a short-field landing on runway 28 in VFR conditions. Winds were reported to be between 180 and 230 degrees at 12 knots, gusting to 17 knots, according to the designated pilot examiner (DPE). The PIC stated that insufficient wind correction was applied during the approach, and a gust pushed the aircraft off centerline, prompting a go-around. During the transition to climb, the right wing touched the ground.

Following a normal landing after the go-around, the aircraft returned to the ramp for inspection, where minor damage was found on the right aft outboard aileron and the right aft section of the wingtip. Maintenance was contacted, and the aircraft was subsequently returned to service.

As the FAA filed it
