From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On April 22, 2025, at approximately 13:25 CDT, a Cessna T210N, privacy data omitted, sustained substantial damage after an emergancy landing on runway 34 at Drake field airport (fyv), Fayetteville Arkansas. The flight originated from fyv airport, and while climbing towards 6,800 feet, the pilot announced to ATC they were returning to fyv due to alternator power issues. At approximately 14 miles from fyv and three quarters into the turnback bank, the pilot noted an abrupt rumble from the aircraft engine. As the aircraft was flying back to fyv, white smoke was noted coming from the right lower center instrument panel area and quickly spread throughout the lower instrument panel in all directions. An emergency was declared to ATC due to smoke in the cockpit. Shortly after announcing the emergency, the aircraft engine stopped and the propellers locked. At approximately 5 miles from fyv, fire was visible coming over the engine cowling on the right side of the engine area. Upon final approach, the aircraft landing gear was not down and locked, and the aircraft crash landed and skidded off the right side of runway 34. Airport ARFF personnel extinguished a fire that was coming from the back right engine area.
