From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The accident flight was the airman's first flight in the aircraft, and did not log any flight training in the make and model of aircraft. Witnesses stated that on the first takeoff run, the airman performed either a takeoff attempt or a high-speed taxi. The airman lost control of the airplane and ground looped on the grass to the left side of the runway. The airman then taxied back to perform the accident takeoff. During the accident takeoff, the airplane traveled on the ground about halfway down the runway, longer than required for the make and model aircraft. The airplane drifted left and stuck and severed a runway light with its left wing strut. The airman elected to continued the takeoff, climbed, and performed two orbits around the airport, before descending vertically to the accident site.

As the FAA filed it
