From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated that while attempting to land he flared incorrectly leading to the main gear hitting the runway hard. This led to the aircraft porpoising onto the nose gear which caused the nose gear lower strut to depart the aircraft. PIC was unaware of the nose gear departing when he attempted to add power which resulted in the aircraft porpoising one more time resulting in the nose of the aircraft resting on the runway.

PIC stated that no mechanical issues existed and further stated that he took responsibility for the accident.

As the FAA filed it
