From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Summary: on July 11, 2025, privacy data omitted an experimental amateur built Gary Weaver CCK-1865 cubcrafter aircraft landed off airfield in Evanston, Wyoming resulting in substantial damages to the aircraft. Damages included a bent horizontal stabilizer and torn skin causing serious damage to the flight controls. The airman stated that while flying over mountainous terrain, he observed what he interpreted as slightly higher than normal exhaust gas temperature (EGT) readings. He said it was slightly in the yellow range but did not get to red. Airman decided to land in a field for precautionary purposes. He said this was not an abnormal proceure for him as he has experience with hundereds of off field landings. After touchdown and during rollout the left main gear struck a large rock and broke the left gear, causing the plane to veer into a small creek and flip over. Pilot was able to exit aircraft uninjured.
