From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The PIC approached the grass runway, touched down, and the aircraft pulled hard left. The pilot applied full right rudder and full right aileron but was unable to counter the hard left pull. The aircraft veered left and entered an adjacent corn field, where the nose gear collapsed and the plane rolled over the nose, coming to rest inverted. A local aerial application pilot on scene told the PIC he observed the tracks in the grass, went to the plane and tried to turn the left wheel, which he found locked up. He told the PIC he had tried to turn the wheel and that he could barely move it. The PIC stated that by the time he had an opportunity to check it himself later, the left main wheel turned freely. A brake inspection by the NTSB was later performed, finding corrosion and surface pitting within the brake assembly.

As the FAA filed it
