From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 22, 2025 at approximately 15:57 local time, a Beechcraft F33 departing KI23 experienced a sudden engine failure at 3,000 ft and 2500 RPM with no gradual power loss or sputtering. The propeller continued to windmill. Magnetos were cycled, fuel tank selector switched to the right tank and an engine restart was attempted but unsuccessful. A left turn toward the runway was initiated. Unable to make the runway, the decision was made to land in a nearby cornfield. At 60 KTS indicated airspeed, with flaps and landing gear retracted, the aircraft struck aproximately 8 ft tall corn stalks and slid 128 feet before coming to a rest. There was no evidence of a post crash fire and there were no injuries reported. Prior to the flight, a preflight inspection was performed and a fuel sump of both tanks showed no evidence of contamination in the fuel. An engine run-up prior to departure was performed with no discrepencies noted.

As the FAA filed it
