From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1056 EST the pilot attempted to land the aircraft on MA55. On first attempt the pilot stated that there were lumps or runts in the grass strip and the aircraft was bounced back int the air. The pilot aborted the first attempt and went around. On the second attempt the pilot said they landed a bit long and again encountered the ruts in the grass strip also resulting in being bounced up again. Pilot stated that since they had successfully done one go around, they would attempt it again. Aircraft struck a small cedar tree/bush at the end of the runway at roughly 6-8 feet altitude. Pilot believed it was primarily a prop strike. They stated the strike resulted in significant loss of air speed which caused the aircraft to drop to the ground. This resulted in the aircraft ground looping. No injuries reported. Significant damage was sustained to the aircraft.
