From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During cruise flight the 30 amp gear pump circuit breaker tripped. The pilot attempted a single reset with no success. The pilot returned to the airport but the landing gear failed to extend. The pilot attempted to lower the landing gear using the emergency extension but the landing gear failed to extend. The aircraft landed on its belly. Mechanics found the gear down hydraulic fluid pressure hose failed at the fitting end swedge, causing the aircraft to lose all hydraulic fluid which prevented the landing gear extension. Failed hose p/n S2178-4-0102 appears to be the original hose that was installed over 46 years ago.
