From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Per pilot statement, on the morning of the accident flight, pilot noted winds out of the south at an estimated 5KTS and temperature 38-40 deg f. pilot reported normal pre-flight checks, including satisfactory engine performance. On takeoff roll the aircraft lifted off approx. 800 feet down the strip but began to sink at 15 ft AGL. Despite additional back pressure, along with rudder and aileron inputs, the aircraft failed to clear trees at the end of the strip and crashed 200-300 ft beyond the departure threshold.
