From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 24, 2025, at approximately 1854 central daylight time, a Cirrus SR-22 had an off-field accident near Granbury regional airport(gdj). The aircraft departed Spinks airport (fws) to perform engine break in procedures due to a new engine installation. After approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of flight when approximately 20 miles from Spinks airport the pilot noticed the engine slowing down and diverted towards Granbury airport (gdj). The aircraft continued to lose altitude and the engine continued to slowdown. Approximately 5 miles north east of gdj the pilot determined that they were not going to be able to reach the airport and activated the Cirrus airframe parachute system (caps) and secured the engine. The aircraft impacted flat in a pasture as indicated by impact marks on the ground. The pilot was uninjured, and the aircraft was sustained substantial damage. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the incident.
