From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot statement:

After landing, I initiated rollout and applied braking as usual. I observed reduced effectiveness

In the left brake and attempted corrective measures using both the brake and rudder. The loss

Of left brake effectiveness, combined with limited rudder authority at low speed, led to the

Aircraft departing the runway.

The inspector arrived on scene during aircraft recovery and did not observe any tire skid marks where the aircraft exited the runway. The aircraft nose wheel is free castoring, and ground directional control of the aircraft is initiated by using the right or left brake for steering. A brief inspection of the aircraft left and right main landing gear brake assemblies did not reveal any damage or brake fluid leakage.

This report will be amended if more information becomes available.

As the FAA filed it
