From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 8/28/2025 at 08:06 CDT, a Cessna citation 680 was departing New Braunfels international airport (kbaz) enroute to carson city airport (kcxp), during takeoff/climb out, the aircraft encountered 2 birds and experienced a bird strike with ingestion of 1 bird into the left-hand engine. The aircraft diverted to san antonio international airport (ksat). The flight crew indicated that they heard an odd noise that changed with different power settings (more power the noise got louder) in addition to the left engine vibration master warning for the left engine. They ran the aircraft checklist and reduced power on the left engine, with no vibrations noted. The aircraft landed 1100 lbs. Overweight.

The left-hand engine was evaluated, with (2) fan blades requiring replacement, as well as accomplishment of the engine vibration check. Additionally, complied with the overweight landing inspection.

If other additional information becomes available, this report will be amended as necessary.
