What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Cabin crew reported steadily increasing electrical burning smell from rear galley. The crew stopped climb at FL200 to await further report from the galley. Fas called back about 2 min later and advised it was getting worse, and a haze is developing in cabin, and pax are complaining of burning eyes and burning odor. The crew turned and descended for the straight in visual approach for RWY26 in Denver and declared the pan pan. The aircraft was stopped on the runway, and the crew called the fas again to see if the flight was ok to taxi or wait for airstairs. They reported the smell, and haze was getting worse so the crew said that we will evacuate. Emergency vehicles and ATC were advised and followed through with the evac successfully. No cautions or alerts were received in the flight deck in regard to the burning. The crew did not blow the engine fire bottles. It was reported one passenger sustained a broken ankle from the right over wing exit slide, otherwise no other injuries during evacuation or event.
