From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Pilot statement: on 5 September, around 1240 pm, we entered the pattern on a right downwind to a right base at mt Pleasant regional airport. Weather was clear skies and wind was calm on the ASOS. Final approach was normal with gear down and checks complete. Upon landing on runway 35 the nose gear abruptly collapsed. The mains remained down and locked. The aircraft then veered left. I tried to correct with right brake to no avail and we exited the left side of the runway going between the edge lights. Upon impact with the uneven terrain and long grass the main gear collapsed and the aircraft spun to the right about 100 degrees and we came to a stop with the engine stopped. We turned all power off and exited the aircraft. There was no smoke or fire.
