From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 10/5/2025, the PIC of a twin-engine Piper twin comanche lost control during a landing attempt to runway 22 at Gila Bend (E63), in Gila Bend Arizona. The PIC felt he needed more power during short final and mismanaged the throttle levers during a go-around attempt, causing the aircraft to roll to the left and was unable to recover. The aircraft impacted the dirt on the left side of runway 22, causing substantial damage to the wings, nose gear, and engines. The PIC admitted there was no operational problem with the aircraft and that he may have mismanaged the throttle application.
