From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 10/18/2025 at approximately 1930Z (1330 LCL), N98RW, a Kitfox S7 supersport, lost control during takeoff on a dirt road approximately 25 miles NE of dubois airport (U41) in Killgore, Idaho. The PIC stated that he forgot to set the trim for takeoff and noticed during the takeoff roll. He said as he was adjusting the stick for the pressure needed to rotate, the grip on the stick came off and he lost control of the plane. He stated that he pulled the throttle back to regain some control, but the aircraft veered to the right and went through a borrow pit, hitting the wing tip. As the plane eventually came to a stop, it tipped on the nose and broke the propellor hub and two of the propellers. Damage to the aircraft included the left wingtip breaking off and causing damage to the fabric of the wing, the left main gear strut was bent and damaged and the propeller hub was broken and two propeller blades were broken. There were no injuries.
