On the evening of 11/08/2025 an amateur built kit fox SS-7 super sport departed from Idaho city (U98), Idaho to Boise airport (boi). ATC communication was incoherent, and pilot did not know his correct altitude. While on approach from the west for boi runway 10L, at approximately 700 meters from the runway, the aircraft impacted a street light/traffic light pole on the southwest corner of w victory rd and n orchard st and descended to the ground traveling west to east through the eastside of n orchard st and slid to a stop along the southern curb on w. wright st approximately 108 meters from the location of the impacted light pole. Investigation shows the propellor and engine were the primary point of impact on the light pole. The pilot sustained serious injuries and the passenger sustained minor injuries. NTSB released the aircraft to local law enforcement and impounded. Preliminary reports indicate the pilot had been operating this aircraft with a blood alcohol level of 0.21.
