The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On 11/14/2025 at approximately 1713 local time a Jabiru J230 sp light sport aircraft was involved in an accident near New Bavaria, Ohio resulting in 2 fatalites. The aircraft was destroyed.
At about 1458 local time the aircraft departed from kuse, fulton county airport in wauseon, Ohio.
After flying for about two hours the aircraft was seen manuevering around an open farm field at low altitude near New Bavaria, Ohio
The aircraft struck the ground along an east south-east heading. The debris field was approximately 250 feet long by 70 feet wide. All the major components of the aircraft were located in this area.
Ground scarring indicated the initial impact was at high speed, left wing down and at a shallow angle of descent. A witness stated she saw the aircraft in a left turn and descending prior to impact. Prior to the impact she also stated it appeared to be at a low altitude. The elevation of the area is about 749 feet MSL. The last ADS b showed the aircraft at about 1075 feet MSL
The wings, tail and flight controls were located in the debris area. There were no indications of failure of any of the components prior to the impact.
The engine was located. While damaged it had oil and was able to be moved via the propeller mounting plate but due to the impact damage did not turn through a full revolution.
Any fuel onboard the aircraft was gone as both tanks were ruptured.
Control continuity could not be verified due to the nature of the aircraft breaking apart after ground impact and the major components of the aircraft being scaterred along the direction of travel. Nothing indicated there was any issues with the continuity of the controls prior to the crash.
