What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On November 22, 2025, during a part 91 flight, the aircraft was being relocated from a job site near redlands municipal airport (krei) to a site near Auberry, California. While hovering above the intended landing spot in front of the aircraft’s hangar, the pilot noticed that the terrain was soft and sloped. To ensure a stable landing surface, he decided to reposition the aircraft forward by approximately 2 to 3 feet.
After landing, the pilot exited the aircraft. A company employee at the work site then informed the pilot that the aircraft’s main rotor blade tip had made contact with the hangar wall. The pilot inspected the blades and observed minor contact damage to the rotor tips. However, he did not feel or hear any indication of blade contact during landing. Management was immediately notified, and the incident was reported in accordance with company policy. The aircraft landed without any further incident.
