From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After a low pass on runway 18, the aircraft climbed to traffic pattern altitude and leveled off. Shortly after leveling off, the clamp on the mixture cable came off and the mixture control went to lean cut-off and the engine lost power. The pilot initiated a 180 degree turn to return to the airport and began attempting to restart the engine. The engine did not resart and the pilot relized he could not make the airport, he lined up with the road. The aircraft drifted off the road and struck a telephone pole, which destroyed the left wing. The aircraft came a stop facing approxiamately 180 degrees opposite his approach
