From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 2/12/2026, the pilot of aircraft privacy data omitted was landing on runway 1 of umatill airport (X23). The runway surface is asphalt. During landing and roll out, the right main landing gear (MLG) separated from the underwing mount. The aircraft veered sharply to the left into the grass median. The aircraft's right wing impacted a taxiway sign. The pilot was uninjured.

Corrosion cracks were discovered upon inspection of the MLG tube and mounting hardware. The area of the corrosion would have been hidden during annual inspection.
