From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 9, 2026, at 1137Z, aircraft N741TD, a Cessna 206T, landed on runway 32 at Raleigh-Durham international airport (rdu). During the landing, the right brake completely failed upon application, and the left brake had to be used to maintain directional control, albeit with reduced effectiveness. Consequently, the aircraft overran the runway, struck a taxiway marker light, and damaged the left brake line. Despite losing all braking capability, the aircraft maneuvered onto taxiway d and eventually onto taxiway b, where it came to a stop. Airport emergency response vehicles attended to the scene, and the aircraft cautiously taxied under its own power to the general aviation ramp.

Upon inspection of the aircraft's braking system it was discovered that the internal seal of the right-hand brake master cylinder had rolled and become dislodged, allowing fluid to bypass internally and causing the right brake failure. The failed seal was found to be brittle and shrunken due to age. It was replaced with a new one, and after additional repairs, the brake system was serviced, bled, and tested, confirming normal functionality.

As the FAA filed it
