From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1:00 pm Alaska local time, a Maule M7-235 aircraft attempted to take off from 6AK9 airport under snow-packed conditions. The ambient temperature was 37°f, and the skies were clear. During takeoff, the pilot noticed a reduction in power at rotation, triggering an alarm. Determining that aborting the takeoff was not an option, the pilot attempted to add more flaps to clear the trees but was unsuccessful. The aircraft struck the treeline and came to rest in the trees. Should the cause of reduction in power at rotation be determined to be due to technical difficulties this report will be updated.
