From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1704 MST, the aircraft entered the left downwind traffic pattern at kavq for rwy 3 and executed a go-around after a turn to final. The aircraft subsequently aligned with rwy 3 at and touched down near midfield. During the landing roll, the aircraft continued beyond the departure end of rwy 3. After traveling approximately 160 feet beyond rwy 3, the aircraft became airborne for approximately 90 feet after traveling up a service road berm then impacted a concrete drainage culvert. A post impact fire ensued. The aircraft was destroyed. Preliminary information obtained from on-scene observations, ADS-B data, and airfield surveillance video indicates the aircraft crossed the rwy 3 threshold at approximately 121 KIAS and touched down near midfield at approximately 89 KIAS. Airfield surveillance video shows the aircraft exhibiting multiple pitch oscillations during the landing roll. At the intersection of rwy 3 and twy a, the aircraft ground speed was approximately 82.8 KTS with approximately 1,392 feet of runway remaining. At the intersection of rwy 3 and rwy 12/30, the aircraft groundspeed was approximately 75 KTS with approximately 986 feet of runway remaining. The aircraft continued beyond the departure end of rwy 3 at an approximate ground speed of 53 KTS prior to impacting the drainage culvert.

A review of the aircraft maintenance records revealed the aircraft was current with the annual inspection required by 14 CFR 91.409 (last performed 06/08/2025; next due 06/08/2026).

The aircraft was not current with the inspections required by:

14 CFR 91.411 (last performed 04/24/2023; due 04/30/2025)

14 CFR 91.413 (last performed 10/11/2017; due 10/31/2019)

14 CFR 91.207 (last performed 01/19/2023; due 01/30/2025)

This narrative is preliminary in nature and will be amended following further NTSB iic party investigation functions.

As the FAA filed it
