From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot reported conducting a wheel-landing and that he touched down beyond the midpoint of the runway. He applied the brakes but could not stop the aircraft before it veered slightly right of the centerline and overran the runway. The aircraft descended an embankment and came to rest after hitting a chain-link fence. During the on-scene investigation it was noted that about 50 yards before the runway threshold, intermittent skid marks from the right tire were present, followed by a continuous skid mark from the left tire as the aircraft exited the runway. The left tire skid extended into the grass. At approximately 20 yards before impacting the fence, skid marks from both tires were present.

As the FAA filed it
