From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 05-02-26 privacy data omitted, a tail wheel airplane landed at uao airport and ground looped upon landing. The pilot stated that he kept the tail wheel off the ground as long as he could, then a few seconds after the tail touched down, the aircraft sharply turned to the left and subsequently ground looped. During the ground loop both main landing gear struts snapped and the aircraft came to rest upon the broken off struts and wheels. The suspected cause was the tail wheel tire being flat.

Earlier in the day when the aircraft landed at bdn airport, the PIC stated that upon landing at bdn the aircraft handle differently at touchdown. Upon post-flight inspection, it was revealed that the tail wheel was flat. The PIC stated that during his pre-flight prior to flying to bdn that the tail wheel tire was in good condition. Upon the discovery at bdn, the PIC had the FBO put air in the tire. After airing the tire, the PIC stated that it seemed to be holding air. With the aircraft in a seemingly airworthy condition, the PIC decided to return to uao.

As the FAA filed it

ON 05-02-26 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A TAIL WHEEL AIRPLANE LANDED AT UAO AIRPORT AND GROUND LOOPED UPON LANDING.
