From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the morning of may 3, 2026, the aircraft was preflighted in accordance with the manufacturer’s preflight checklist, notng engine oil quantity to be normal. Departure of the first leg was at 13:26 with three souls on board and landed uneventfully at 13:35.

After approximately a one-hour shutdown, the aircraft departed at 14:31 with four souls on board, including a 105 kg patient, increasing gross weight by approximately 70 kg but remaining 100 kg below maximum gross weight. The planned flight was approximately 22 NM.

Approximately five minutes into the flight at 500 feet AGL, 70% torque, and 140 KIAS (standard cruise profile engine torque and airspeed), engine oil temperature rose to 114°c (limit: 115°c). Power was reduced to approximately 60% torque and 110 KIAS. The temperature remained at 114°c for several minutes.

At approximately 3 NM from the destination, an engine oil temperature warning light illuminated. A precautionary emergency landing was initiated. The flight path was diverted to a parking lot approximately 2.5 NM east of the destnation within class c airspace. ATC was notified.

The aircraft landed without further incident and was shut down and removed from service pending inspection by qualified maintenance personnel. There were no injuries or damage to property. Maintenance replaced the thermostatic bypass valve and stated leak and ops check was satisfactory. Aux generator was removed to facilitate this work and reinstalled.
