From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 06/01/2026 an Beech F33A was performing practice ILS approaches into laporte municipal airport. The aircraft departed and made three approaches, two go arounds without touching down, and one landing. During rollout after landing the nose gear suddenly collapsed. The prop and nose contacted the ground, and the aircraft skidded to a halt. After reviewing video evidence of the aircraft landing, it was noted that the landing gear went into a transient state approximately 1-2 seconds before the nose gear collapsed. The visual indication was both inboard main landing gear doors opened which is one of the first steps to retract the landing gear just prior to the nose gear retracting. In order for the gear to be in that state requires a manual input of the gear selection lever to start the sequence of events.
