From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 5, 2026 at approximately 1638Z the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff due to a loss of power and possible stall. The pilot was injured and evacuated to umass hospital. The aircraft was substantially damaged. It appears to have impacted on the left wing tip and left forward engine cowl area. Examination of the wreckage showed flight control continuity and fuel system continuity to the throttle body. The electrical system could not be checked due to impact damage to the upper magneto. Crankshaft continuity was established by turning the damaged propeller and observing movement of the flywheel on the aft side of the engine. Engine compression was established by removing a spark plug in each cylinder and rotating the damaged propeller. Two instruments with non-volatile memory were removed from the instrument panel along with an SD card and provided to the NTSB for examination. Aircraft logbooks are not accessable at this time. This is an interim report. We are awaiting results from the instrument download and review of the aircraft logbooks and will update at that time.

As the FAA filed it
