From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 26, 2026, privacy data omitted departed kcrq on a repositioning flight to kmyf for scheduled maintenance. The PIC, was seated in the left seat of the cockpit. Pilot 2 calculated the weight and balance, fuel requirements, and performance data. There were two passengers onboard in the rear seats of the aircraft. As privacy data omitted departed crq without any issues, both pilots stated that the flight from crq to myf was normal. Prior to entering the traffic pattern for myf, ATC instructed them to enter a left downwind for runway 28L. The weather was VFR at myf airport, with light winds that were not a factor in the incident. During the approach to landing phase of the flight, pilot 2 flared a little high and touch the touch the ground with tail decided to initiate a go-around, added full power, and announced, "I'm going around." PIC stated, "no, we've got this," took control of the aircraft, decided to land, and reduced the power to idle. The aircraft's warning system announced, "stall, stall, stall." The aircraft was at a low airspeed with a high pitch attitude. Aircraft stalled and incurred a hard landing. The aircraft bounced, departed the runway to the left, and went into the dirt. The aircraft's right main gear broke off, causing it to spin 190 degrees before coming to a full stop between the runways. The flight crew shut down the aircraft and exited with the two passengers. No injuries were reported, and only minor damage to the aircraft occurred. This incident is now closed; if more information becomes available, this report will be amended.
