From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot reported a problem with the aircraft landing gear not showing three green lights on approach to kfrg, pilot asked for frg tower confirmation, frg tower confirmed main landing gear appeared down, but tower could not say if nose gear was down.

Pilot elected to return to his home airport and flew from kfrg to khwv attempting to manually lower the landing gear. Pilot still had not gotten nose gear down green light, pilot informed NY TRACON (N90) of this issue as khwv is a non-towered airport and UNICOM at hwv was not operational at that time of the night.

After touching down on runway 24 at hwv with main landing gear remaining down, nose landing gear retracted, prop struck runway, pilot was sole person on board the aircraft and was not injuried.
