From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

privacy data omitted Aborted takeoff on runway 5R at rdu due to insufficient no.2 engine power. Aircraft taxied to the ramp where the left main landing gear brake caught fire. Ramp personnel extinguished the fire. POB: 4, injuries: none, damage: minor

Subsequent investigation revealed insufficient r engine power due to right-engine fcu malfunction in eec auto operation. Subsequent brake fire due to left brake thermal overload from substantial differential braking during the aborted takeoff attempt.

The event was preceded by a right eec advisory annunciator on the previous flight from kiso to krdu. The advisory was addressed after landing and extinguished, but the discrepancy was not communicated through the required maintenance reporting chain before the next departure.

Maintenance reproduced the right-engine power shortfall in eec auto operation while manual operation produced normal takeoff power.

The left brake fire was most likely caused by excessive heat generated from the substantial differential braking required to maintain directional control during the asymmetric-thrust aborted takeoff.

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ABORTED TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 5R AT RDU DUE TO INSUFFICIENT NO.2 ENGINE POWER.
