From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 09/11/2026 at approximately 1425Z privacy data omitted, a Douglas A-4 skyhawk callsign jedi 1, landed gear-up at kiso rwy 23. The aircraft was landing from a flight conducted under pao in contract with the F-15E formal training unit from seymour johnson afb in goldsboro, NC. Jedi 1 requested a tactical arrivial back into Kinston and was told to report a standard initial to rwy 23 by the tower controller. Multiple other aircraft were also either entering or departing the traffic pattern of kiso. These included an army C26 (gecko 77), a PA28, and another A-4 (scooter 1). During the tactical arrival there was an abnormal amount of communication between iso tower and the aircraft in the vicinity. The iso tower controller was possibly in training as multiple voices giving instructions can be heard in the ATC audio recordings. The pilot of jedi 1 stated much of his attention was diverted from his normal landing procedures due to the amount of traffic in the area and possibly confusing instructions from iso tower. The pilot stated his attention was more focused on scooter 1'S possible traffic conflict with the other aircraft in iso's pattern becasuse the pilot of scooter 1 was less experienced in the A-4. As jedi 1 approached the right base turn of rwy 23, he completed a landing configuration check that was incomplete. Upon touchdown the pilot experienced the aircraft becoming rough with heavy vibrations and a non-existent rollout. The pilot stated he forgot to lower the aircraft's landing gear and called for the other aircraft in the flight to go around. The pilot safely egressed the aircraft after shutting down the engine; no cockpit switches or controls were altered prior to egress.

As the FAA filed it

ON 09/11/2026 AT APPROXIMATELY 1425Z ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A DOUGLAS A-4 SKYHAWK CALLSIGN JEDI 1, LANDED GEAR-UP AT KISO RWY 23.
