From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman was trying to get current for night flying. Airman made one take off and pattern circuit, then landed. Airman had plenty of runway available so she applied takeoff power and accelerated down runway 31 for a second trip around the pattern. Upon reaching an indicated airspeed of 34 knots, she heard a loud "whack" sound and the aircraft veered left. She regained directional control and aborted the takeoff. Airman then returned to the hangar and upon examination of the left wing found damage and deer hair. She then notified crosswinds management. The dead deer was found near taxiway A3, where she first heard the noise.
