From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 28th, 2026, at approximately 8:30AM local time, an Air tractor 802AT, privacy data omitted, operated by privacy data omitted., impacted the top static line of a power transmission line near shidler, OK, while climbing out from its 7th pass from a field for aerial application. The static line was severed, and the aircraft began to lose power. The commercially rated pilot observed oil streaming from the cowling, conducted an 180° turn and performed an emergency landing in an open field just beyond the application field without further incident.

An inspection of the aircraft revealed nicks on the leading and trailing edges of multiple propeller blades, the bending of one propeller blade aft and in the opposite direction of rotation, damage to the propeller hub, a vertical gash in outboard leading edge of the right wing, a dent on the inboard leading edge of the right wing, impact marks on the wire cutter and tire on the left main gear and a severed brake line on the left main gear. Both exhaust nozzles of the engine displayed impact dents and the spray applicator on the right wing was torn away from the mounting brackets with two brackets bent.

The pilot was uninjured and the aircraft sustained minor damage.
