Probable cause
That the pilot made a poor inflight decision to practice the slow flight maneuver at a low altitude and that he failed to maintain airspeed.
Sequence of events
NTSB’s coding before 2008: each occurrence and phase of flight, and the causes and factors under it. The codes are defined in NTSB’s coding manual.
Analysis
The pilot was practicing slow flight about 15 feet over the drylake when he stalled the airplane. The altitude was insufficient to effect a recovery and the airplane struck the ground in an uncontrolled descent.
