Probable cause
The pilot's exceeding a proper touchdown point. A factor in the accident was the pilot's misreading wind information.
Sequence of events
NTSB’s coding before 2008: each occurrence and phase of flight, and the causes and factors under it. The codes are defined in NTSB’s coding manual.
Analysis
The pilot attempted to land downwind and ran off the departure end of the runway. After the accident, she said she was 'rushing' and misread the windsock.
