A proposal is not in force. If adopted, it becomes an AD, usually with changes. Only the Federal Register edition is official.

Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain McDonnell Douglas Model DC-10-10, -15, -30, -30F (KC-10A and KDC-10 military), and -40 series airplanes; and Model MD-10-10F series airplanes. This proposal would require an inspection to verify that the wire connections at circuit breakers are properly connected, and correction of any incorrect wire connection at the circuit breakers. This action is necessary to prevent loss of protection by the circuit breakers in the flight engineer's equipment panel due to improperly wired connections at the circuit breakers, which could result in wire damage and could lead to smoke and/or fire in the cockpit. This action is intended to address the identified unsafe condition.
