A proposal is not in force. If adopted, it becomes an AD, usually with changes. Only the Federal Register edition is official.

Summary

This document proposes the adoption of a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Airbus Model A320-111, - 211, and -231 series airplanes. This proposal would require repetitive inspections to detect missing or cracked bolts and fittings of the frame-to-pressure-floor connection; and corrective actions, if necessary. This proposal also provides for optional terminating action for the repetitive inspections of the affected fittings. This proposal is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to detect and correct fatigue cracking in the bolts and fittings of the frame-to-pressure-floor connection, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airplane.
